Irish Sterling Silver Divided Strainer Spoon, Michael Keating, Dublin, 1778-1779
This spoon with a reticulated, perpendicular silver divider in the bowl, is typical of this rare eighteenth/early nineteenth century form, often from Ireland. It functions exceedingly well to strain and regulate the amount of liquid served with a stew or vegetables.
